No.333: The Relationship between Writing Texts and Composing Music I noticed one of the similarities between writing texts and composing music is that both include a limited number of themes in one work.
For instance, I elaborate and expand a main theme in an academic paper. It is not so usual to encompass several themes in one paper.
Furthermore, each paper comprises several key messages, but in general, one message is introduced in one paragraph. Several messages are seldom included in one paragraph.
All of them discussed above can be true to music composition. In principle, a piece of music has a central theme, and each measure in the work plays a crucial role in introducing the theme.
In other words, each measure with a message can show us the culmination of the theme at a certain point in the work.
